Eagle Nation Alert! Beginning Monday, July 28 through Tuesday, July 29, there will be multiple law enforcement agencies conducting safety training exercises in our district. I did not want you to be alarmed if you notice police vehicles on our campus and in the area. It's all part of a planned and controlled operation. Training like this helps keep our communities safe and prepared.

Eagle Pride Alert! The Como Pickton Junior High cheerleaders attended NCA cheer camp at UT Tyler June 17th-20th. While there, they received numerous awards. Superior Ribbons for Band Chant, Chant, and because the girls did so well in spiriting, their camp buddy gave them a separate superior ribbon for spiriting! Excellent ribbon in their cheer. 5 All American Nominees Patience Forbes- nominated for jumps Macy McDowell- nominated for jumps Bryaunna Neal- nominated for jumps Victoria Neal- nominated for jumps Tiffany Nguyen- nominated for jumps Pin It Forward Pin Aubrey Boatman NFHS Credentialing for exemplifying the “Roles of a Cheerleader”, including athlete, ambassador, crowd leader, entrainer, spirit raiser, and leadership. Teams who receive this are eligible for National competitions with Varsity Spirit. They earned the spirit stick as well!

Eagle Pride Alert! Our Lady Eagles softball had some girls represent us big time for Texas Girls coaches association. We had all 4 seniors receive Academic All State awards: Bella Romero, Sanay Diaz, Maggie Brown, and Valeria Gonzalez. Then we also had Junior Graci’ann Adair receive a 2A All State player award. This marks 6 straight years of having all state players and all state academics player represent our school! Give them a big shout out on an incredible accomplishment!!! #EaglePride247

Eagle Pride Alert! Valeria Gonzalez and Danica Wiggins represented Como-Pickton last night at the FCA Heart of a Champion All Star football game. This honor allowed them to showcase their hard work, spirit, and dedication to cheer. This is the second year that Como-Pickton cheer has been represented at this event. Eagle Pride Alert! Bella Romero represented Como-Pickton last night with a win in the FCA All Star softball game. This is a honor to be selected and this also marks the 5th year in a row we have had a Como Pickton player chosen to play! Her team won 5-4!

Documents needed for new students: Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Immunizations and Proof of Residence. Proof of residence accepted are: rental or purchase agreement, electric bill, water bill or gas bill. These documents will need to be brought to the campus secretary after August 1st.

Eagle Pride Alert! We would like to recognize and celebrate an extraordinary individual—our 2025 Hopkins County Veteran of the Year, Mr. Joe Ortiz-Garcia. Joe is a proud member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves, and his dedication to our country is matched only by his unwavering commitment to his community, his students, and his family. Joe is a true role model—his leadership, his humility, and his passion inspire everyone around him, especially our students. He shows them what it means to serve with honor, to lead with compassion, and to live with integrity. He is currently deployed, but he was able to "Zoom" into the Freedom Ball to accept his award. Joe Garcia, you are an inspiration. On behalf of all of us—thank you for your service, thank you for your heart, and congratulations on being named our Veteran of the Year.
