Como-Pickton CISD

Dear CP Families,

Beginning Monday, August 24, we will have a change to the traffic pattern at the elementary school. The entrance to the drop-off and pick-up line will now be located behind the new gym. This change will be in effect for both morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.

As you know, our school is located on a very busy highway. With traffic backing up along both shoulders of the highway during arrival and dismissal, CPCISD believes this change will help improve traffic flow and, most importantly, ensure the safety of our students and families.

This is a minimal change to our current routine, but one that we believe will help keep everyone safer. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this adjustment!

We are so proud of the way our girls competed, battled, and represented Como-Pickton! JV1 swept with a win, while JV2 battled but came up short. Thank you to Triple Crown Roofing and Rusty Harden for providing breakfast to our staff on Tuesday! Rusty, a former teacher at CPCISD, took a few minutes to tell some stories about his days at Como-Pickton. And, if you know Rusty, you know that everyone was laughing by the time he was finished talking. Thank you for your continued support of CPCISD!

Ochoa Orthodontics helped our staff make it through the afternoon last Monday. How did they do that? Snacks, of course! Trail mix, chips, snack bars, waters, energy drinks... all the goodies! We are thankful for your generosity!

The CPCISD cheerleaders made breakfast for our entire staff on Monday morning, and it was enjoyed by all! We always look forward to this breakfast with our cheerleaders!

One of our favorite traditions at Como-Pickton is when our local churches come and pray over all the rooms in our buildings. We are honored by their service to us, and we are thankful for all they do for us. Thank you to Grace Methodist Church, Tabernacle Baptist Church, and Greenpond Baptist Church for praying over us this year!

Lady Eagles at the Chisum Tournament 🏐🦅 The Varsity Lady Eagles competed in the Chisum Tournament and finished 2-4 against some great competition! Our girls competed hard, battled through every match, and continued to grow and improve. 🏐 They came up short against Bells, Howe, Quinlan, and Hooks, but they picked up wins against Trenton and North Lamar JV! We are proud of the way our girls continued to compete, fight, and represent Como-Pickton. We’ll take what we learned from this tournament and keep getting better! 🦅💙🏐 Keep working, Lady Eagles! The season is just getting started!

We owe a huge THANK YOU to Blake Powell Law Group for providing breakfast to our faculty and staff last Friday. Thank you for a great start to the day! We danced a little to get going!

Today is the first Friday of the school year, and Fridays are always fun! What made this Friday even more special was the group of dads, community members, and State Troopers who came to welcome our students to school.

The kids started their day with high-fives and big smiles! CPCISD is blessed to have a community that cares so much about our students!
