Another great day for us here at our basketball camp. We had 29 young eagles show up again to finish day 3 strong. Our young eagles put everything they learned and worked on playing as a team with some live scrimmages within their own age groups. From there, we finished camp off with some more mini-basketball games to end camp on a good note. We want to give a shout-out to our great parents for allowing us to help our young eagles and their basketball skills. Mr. Nguyen, for providing pizza and drinks for our campers. And a final shout-out to Nurse Holly for helping out on day 1. We decided on giving out the recognition of Eagle of the day to all of our young eagles for working hard on the final day of camp!

Second day of our basketball camp and another day of great turnout with 26 young eagles eager to improve and work on their skills. Our coaches and players put our campers through more of an offensive-oriented day with a focus on improving shooting fundamentals and skill. Before transitioning to the next thing, Coach Cox put the campers through a shooting skill competition and ended up recognizing the young eagles that came out on top of their grade group. We once again finished camp with more team-oriented basketball and allowed our different age group campers to go against young eagles in their age group. Once again, we recognized our three standout young eagles of the day at the end of day 2. We have one more day of basketball camp and would love to see everyone there to finish camp out strong! Day 3 will be from 9AM-11AM. We will pass out camp T-shirts towards the end of camp. Below, are our recognized young eagles! Today was the first day of our basketball camp, and it was amazing to see the number of young eagles that showed up and showed off their game! 29 young eagles in total. Coach Cox and our high school basketball boys put our campers through skill drills and several fun games. We ended camp with some competition, doing some 1v1s, 3v3s, and 4v4s. Overall, a great 1st day. Make sure to come out tomorrow for day two of camp! Below are our 3 eagles for the day. These young eagles stood out of their grade group on Day 1 and got recognized by our coaches and high school players. Life can feel heavy at times, but there are still good things all around us: moments of kindness, beauty, joy and connection. When we notice and appreciate them, we feel more resilient and hopeful.

Welcome to Joyful June. Let's look for the good around us - one small moment, one kind action and one grateful pause at a time.

Texas law now requires school districts to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms. The attached information will help you learn about options for, as well as how to talk to your child and others about, the safe storage of firearms.

It is unlawful to store, transport, or abandon an unsecured firearm in a place where children are likely to be and can obtain access to the firearm. Under Texas Penal Code 46.13, a person commits the offense of making a firearm accessible to a child if the child gains access to a readily dischargeable firearm, and the person with criminal negligence, they fail to secure a readily dischargeable firearm or leave it in a place where they knew or should have known a child could gain access.

The penalty for allowing a child access to a firearm can range from a Class C misdemeanor (punishable by a $500 fine) to a Class A misdemeanor (punishable by a $4000 fine, a year in jail, or a combination of the two).
Texas exempts the purchase of firearm safety equipment from Texas Sales and Use Tax.

Remember, a gun should be stored unloaded in a safe or locked container, with ammunition stored elsewhere. Click HERE to learn more and find additional resources from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Tuesday night, we honored the Top 10 Seniors from the Class of 2026, (along with their influential educator) with a formal dinner at The Savannah.

We celebrated excellence, dedication, and perseverance. This honor reflected not only their academic achievements, but also their discipline, resilience, and commitment to doing their best every single day.

They have set a high standard and shown what is possible through hard work and focus. But beyond grades and rankings, what truly stands out is their potential to lead, inspire, and make a difference in the world.

Remember: this is not the finish line—it is only the beginning. Keep challenging yourselves, stay curious, and never lose the drive that brought you here.

Congratulations - we are incredibly proud of you.

Today, we gathered to celebrate someone who has truly made a lasting impact on our school, our students, and our community — JoAnn Fuller, our Food Service Director.

After 5 years of dedicated service as it is hard to imagine CPCISD without her. Behind every breakfast served before sunrise, every lunch tray prepared with care, every special event meal, and every smiling cafeteria employee, there has been her steady leadership, her compassion, and her commitment to excellence.

On behalf of everyone at CPCISD, we thank you for your years of service, your tireless work ethic, your leadership, and your heart. CPCISD is better because of you.
Congratulations, JoAnn. We wish you a retirement filled with happiness, health, and countless blessings.
