Eagle Pride Alert! We would like to celebrate Hayden Anderson for competing in the ITF World Cup in Argentina and bringing home a World Champion Gold in sparring as well as a Bronze in forms.
A little about his journey...
Hayden started his Taekwondo journey in October 2021 at Rockwall Black Belt Academy. He earned his 1st degree black belt in March of 2024. That same year, he tried out for, and earned a spot on his first international Taekwondo team and represented the USA in Birmingham England. While in England, Hayden brought home 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals.
In January 2025 , Hayden had the opportunity to try out for, and earned a spot to represent the USA at the ITF World Cup in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The ITF style of Taekwondo and its techniques are much different from the styles and techniques that the team had spent years learning. As such, Hayden and his teammates spent countless hours learning these new styles and techniques. Over the course of 10 months, they practiced multiple days per week and dedicated a full weekend each month to training. Additionally, Hayden trained with another local Taekwondo school during the week and took boxing classes to help build cardio.
In March the team was able to participate in their first ITF tournament in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Every team USA member brought home a medal from this tournament. In October, the time had come to take all of their training to Argentina. At the event, over 16 countries were represented from all over the world. The competition was extreme. In the end, Hayden and his teammates efforts paid off. Nearly every member of team USA was able to bring home a medal from the ITF World Cup including Hayden who brought home a World Champion Gold in sparring as well as a Bronze in forms.
