Spring in the Eagle’s Nest: A Message from Mrs. Walden

We can’t believe it—May is already here! What an incredible year it has been, filled with achievements, growth, and so many moments worth celebrating. As we head into this exciting final stretch, we look forward to honoring our students and staff throughout the month at banquets, award ceremonies, and graduations.

Progress continues on our new CTE facility, which is approximately 70+% complete. We anticipate moving in late May and look forward to hosting a grand opening for that facility at a later date. This space will create incredible opportunities for our students to gain real-world skills and prepare for future success. Stay tuned for more details!

As we enter the last Six Weeks, I encourage all of our families to stay engaged—check grades, communicate with teachers, and continue encouraging your students to finish strong. Every day matters.

Be on the lookout early this week as we share dates for all of our May activities—we don’t want you to miss a moment! Be sure to follow our CPCISD Facebook page for the latest updates, celebrations, and event information.

Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and belief in our students. Together, we are building something truly special. The best is still ahead for CPCISD.
Let’s finish this year strong together!

With gratitude,
Lydia Walden

Our students brought color, creativity, and life to Winnsboro’s Bloom Festival! 🎨🌸

As part of the Bloom Exhibition, students painted the Art Garden doors provided by the BLOOM Committee, transforming them into vibrant works of art that made a beautiful impact on the festival experience. Their contributions truly became part of something larger in our community.

We invite you to visit the exhibition (April 11–25) and see their incredible work in person!

Featuring student artists:
Rylee Hokett, Colbyn Skillern, Hadley Highfield, and Presley Williams.

Our War Eagles were able to send our seniors off right with a big win versus Alba-Golden tonight! Our boys were able to put away the Panthers 3-0 with the help of a strong outing by senior Dane Oud. Oud was able to sit down 16 Panthers via the strikeout and got some timely defense from the guys behind him. With the win our War Eagles secured 2nd overall in district and the top seed for the small school division. We will play next week in Hooks,TX versus McLeod in the bi-district round. It will be a doubleheader starting at 6pm on Wednesday and Thursday in Hooks if necessary. Before our game we were able to honor our 4 seniors with their senior night festivities. Cade Childress, Sean Carpenter, Maddix Garvin, and Dane Oud were showered with some gifts and one last trip around the bases! Thank you seniors for your time and effort with our War Eagle Baseball Program.

Yesterday was a special day for two of our Lady Eagles, as Graci Adair and Paisley Watkins both signed to play college softball at NTCC! Graci and Paisley have both had successful softball careers here at Como-Pickton and we are very proud of their accomplishment. Not many student athletes are able to make it to the next level, but these two young women have done it! Help us congratulate these two and wish them luck in their future endeavors!
