🎣 Big things ahead on the water!
Hunter Potter ( 9th grade) is gearing up to compete in the Regional Fishing Tournament tomorrow (May 2) at Lake Palestine. If he advances, he’ll head to the State Championship on May 30–31 at Lake Texoma!
That’s not all—he was ranked 7th in his district for Angler of the Year and will compete in that championship tournament on June 27 at Lake Tyler.
Earlier this season, his team brought home 2nd place at the Bob Sandlin tournament, and he snagged Big Bass—earning a $1,000 college scholarship!
Hunter is a proud CP Eagle but competes on the Winnsboro High School Fishing Team.
Wishing him the best of luck as he continues an incredible season! 🐟🏆

Spring in the Eagle’s Nest: A Message from Mrs. Walden
We can’t believe it—May is already here! What an incredible year it has been, filled with achievements, growth, and so many moments worth celebrating. As we head into this exciting final stretch, we look forward to honoring our students and staff throughout the month at banquets, award ceremonies, and graduations.
Progress continues on our new CTE facility, which is approximately 70+% complete. We anticipate moving in late May and look forward to hosting a grand opening for that facility at a later date. This space will create incredible opportunities for our students to gain real-world skills and prepare for future success. Stay tuned for more details!
As we enter the last Six Weeks, I encourage all of our families to stay engaged—check grades, communicate with teachers, and continue encouraging your students to finish strong. Every day matters.
Be on the lookout early this week as we share dates for all of our May activities—we don’t want you to miss a moment! Be sure to follow our CPCISD Facebook page for the latest updates, celebrations, and event information.
Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and belief in our students. Together, we are building something truly special. The best is still ahead for CPCISD.
Let’s finish this year strong together!
With gratitude,
Lydia Walden
Superintendent
