Como-Pickton CISD

It came down to the wire on Friday at Union Grove, as our Como-Pickton War Eagles grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 5-4, over the McLeod Longhorns. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the fifth when Nick Castle doubled, scoring the winning run! Dane Oud hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the third! Sean Carpenter and Cade Childress had some big hits as well that helped push the Eagles over the top. Our War Eagles play at home on Tuesday against Fruitvale in their next game.

Lady Eagles win big tonight beating Alba Golden 10-8 in an intense back and forth game! Pitching, defense, hitting, and bunting were all key factors in their success tonight! We celebrated our "Out of this World" staff member for the month of February today at Como-Pickton Elementary. Karmon Bain was voted in by other staff members for her unwavering hard work and dedication to our elementary school. Congratulations! We are so lucky to have you!

Lady Eagle fans tomorrow’s game vs Alba Golden at home is now moved to start at 4:00! Come out, pack the stands and support these girls! It will be a great game you won’t want to miss!

The Como-Pickton High School Band Travelled to Gilmer on March 5th to compete in UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest. They received Excellent ratings on stage  and 1s in the Sightreading room. Resulting in Superior Ratings! Please congratulate a Como-Pickton War Eagle Band Member today!!!!

Congratulations to Mrs. Rosamond's homeroom class for having the highest attendance rate for the month of January. They get to keep the astronaut in their class all month, and Mrs. Rosamond spun the wheel for students to win a prize. Keep up the good work Elementary Eagles!

Eagle Pride Alert! Today, Como-Pickton Elementary had 6 week celebrations for 1st through 5th graders who did not have any discipline or failing grades for the 4th 6 weeks. We had a lot of students who go to participate in bingo, eat snacks, and win prizes. We are so proud of them!

Lady Eagle softball traveled to Alba Golden last night and fought hard coming up short losing 5-4. The girls played hard and battled till the end. Next game will be at home on Friday starting at 6:00 vs Alba Golden. With weather coming in there could be changes, we will keep you posted if it does!

Monday afternoon, our JH boys traveled to Winnsboro to participate in the JH Rugged Red Relays. These boys had a long afternoon, but they came out and competed with pride. The hard work they’ve put in this season showed Monday as they competed well against bigger UIL classification schools in the area. Several athletes placed in their events and improved on their personal and team times. Overall, great job boys!
