Junior High Track Parents! Our JH girls & boys meet scheduled for today in Rivercrest has been canceled for today and will be moved to Wednesday. We will start Wednesday at 3:30 with running events only. No field events. We will let you know if that school makes any further changes.

Eagle Baseball Fans. Because our baseball field is still not drained or dried enough to play on tomorrow, our baseball game has changed to 12:00 at Winona! We hope to see everyone there!

Eagle Softball Fans…. Tomorrow’s softball game has been canceled. Our Lady Eagles game against Yantis tomorrow has resulted in a Yantis forfeit. That brings our District record to 1-0 and our Season record to 17-3. Their next game is Tuesday at White Oak starting at 5:30! Como and Pickton communities. Many of you may have undoubtedly noticed a lot of activity to the East of our elementary campus directly behind our school board meeting room. We are proud to announce that we are beginning construction of a new baseball field. We are building a new baseball field for several reasons. 1. The most important reason is that we are in desperate need to expand and improve our CTE Ag facilities as well as add extra classrooms to the Junior High and High School. The most convenient and cost effective way to prepare for this, is to relocate our baseball field so that we may build in that location in the future. 2. Our current baseball field has served us well over the years and holds lots of wonderful tradition and memories. Unfortunately, though, it has aged and needs a complete overhaul to keep it a sense of pride. The light poles are in unacceptable condition, the dugouts and bleachers are no longer something to prideful of, and the field was built with the hazard of a manhole cover existing in the outfield. The district has been extremely frugal over the last few years and has saved the money necessary for this project. There will be absolutely zero additional costs to the community for this field. Finally, after softball season, you will also notice some much needed upgrades to our softball field in order to keep it as a sense of pride for the community as it has been in the past. There will also be zero additional costs to the community for this project as well. When these projects are complete, we believe that these student athletic fields will be areas that the community can take great pride in for decades to come…..while also allowing for much needed future improvements in our instructional areas. Well, they can’t win them a… just most of them. Tonight the Lady Eagles lost to Mount Vernon 12-2. On a high note, Mattison Buster went 2 for 2 and hit 2 home runs. Eagle Pride Alert! The Lady Eagles steal another win today beating New Boston 6-0!! The girls showed up at 11:30 and worked on the field until 3 so they were able to play. Parents and community members brought equipment out to get the field playable, and it definitely payed off giving the girls another win to make their season record 16-2! Eagle Pride Alert! Your Lady Eagle softball team are the Frisco Legacy tournament Champions!!! They first beat Frisco Legacy 7-1 and then beat Fort Worth CD In the Championship game 7-5. Eagle Pride Alert! Our Lady Eagles come up with a big win tonight beating Mineola 15-5! Mattison Buster walloped her 5th Home Run of the season tonight. Addi Monk went 3 for 4 at the plate hitting 2 doubles and a triple. This brings their record to 11-1 for the season.
