Eagle Pride Alert! The Como-Pickton High School FCCLA chapter competed at the Region 3 Leadership Conference this weekend in Waco. The Chapter Service Project team placed 2nd and will advance to State in April. Priscila Alonso, Michelle Mejia and Daniela Castro presented a display board and speech to a panel of judges. Others competing were Brenna Patrick, Zoe Reed, Boston Peeks, Camyn Courson, Elle Mertes (Focus on Children), Lauren Lewellen, Brittny Quinonez, Justiss Larkin (Cupcake Presentation) and Steffani Wright (Toys that Teach). Eagle Softball Fans. We are going to push the Alumni Softball game back to start at 5:30 tomorrow. We wanted to give just a little more time for folks to get off work and enjoy the game. Gates open at 4:40. All tickets are $10. Children 9 and under free with adult. We hope to see everyone there!

Your Lady Eagles 🦅  traveled to Bonham to compete in the Area Round game vs Lindsay. It was a very tough game for the ladies and unfortunately we ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Eagle Baseball Alert! The baseball game scheduled for Monday (2/20/23) will now be played at Quitman starting at 1:30. There will be no junior varsity game. It will be a varsity only game.

Eagle Nation! We are proud to announce that today, Como-Pickton CISD Board President DJ Carr and Superintendent Greg Bower, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, finalized the acceptance of approximately 978 acres of land that had been donated to the school district. The land is mostly situated along Hwy 269 in Pickton before you get to the Black Oak area. The gift came from the Joe Tom Braden Estate under the Executorship of Mr. Roy King. Mr. Joe Tom Braden was a graduate of Pickton High School and long time leading resident in the Pickton community. Before his passing, he envisioned his land benefiting children in the future. Today, with the help of Mr. King, that vision became a reality. Our school district is already the Best in Hopkins County, and the future is looking even brighter than ever! #EaglePride247

Eagle Pride Alert! The Sulphur Bluff Masonic Lodge representatives honored Michael Bowen, CTE Director at Como-Pickton School, with the Community Builder Award at Monday's Como-Pickton Professional Learning Day. This award recognizes people in the community for their charitable contributions. Mr. Bowen has dedicated 15 years to raising funds by organizing and donating "student built projects" to be sold/auctioned to assist in raising funds for the "Help a Child Benefit" in Hopkins County.
