Como-Pickton Community - Our football UIL District Executive Committee met today to discuss changes to our football schedule in the event of a COVID shutdown during district play. The vote was 4 to 3 for the new schedule which is pictured below. Como-Pickton was one the three votes against changing our schedule. This is for Varsity only at this time, we will announce further information regarding JV and Junior High schedules as we receive them.
Another great week for the Como-Pickton JH Lady Eagles Softball team as they beat North Hopkins 16-0 and then beat Chapel Hill 5-2!!! That puts the Lady Eagles at an undefeated 4-0 record!! Shiloh Hill threw a No Hitter against North Hopkins. Saylor Smith, Shiloh Hill, and Sarah Corely all hit Home Runs to lead the Lady Eagles to another great victory! Eagle Volleyball Fans - Union Hill has cancelled their volleyball game against us for this Saturday as a result of COVID issues that they are dealing with in their own volleyball program. Let's keep Union Hill, as well as all of the other schools, in our prayers as we each struggle through this difficult situation. Our Lady Eagles are scheduled to play again this coming Tuesday.

Como-Pickton Community - In keeping with our commitment of transparency for all stakeholders, I wanted to inform you that as of today, we have 7 total positive COVID cases out of 693 students. We believe that we have been able to effectively isolate and quarantine those in close contact who have not worn masks. Some of those positive cases are recovering and some will be returning to school as early as Monday morning. As I am sure that you are aware, those numbers will fluctuate every day. We will always monitor them, and should we feel that we are no longer able to isolate effectively, then we will transition to online school for a week or two to get the numbers back down and then transition back to face to face instruction. We are not close to that point yet, but we will keep monitoring. Thank you again for your constant support and prayers for our school.
