Will CPCISD provide meals for students during the school closure?

Yes, beginning March 23rd, we will have a drive-up / pick-up service available for you at the front entrance of the elementary school between 10:15 and 11:15, Monday through Friday. Please consider this a drive through type service and remain in your vehicles. We will serve you in your vehicle at the designated pick-up point.

In order for us to prepare the correct number of meals each day, please call our Student Meal Hotline the day prior to picking up your child’s meals. The Hotline number is 903-488-8895. Our Hotline hours will be from 8:00 am – 11:30 am, Monday – Friday.

We encourage you to use the pick-up process at the school as our delivery resources are understandably very thin. We will, however, deliver your child’s meals to your driveway entrance if it is impossible for you to make arrangements to pick them up. If that is the case, please let the Hotline receptionist know that you will need a delivery when you call. The delivery team will not get out of their vehicle, so please be prepared to meet them at your driveway on the day of delivery. They will start their deliveries at 10:15 am each day.

For further questions, please feel free to call the Student Meal Hotline, or email your campus principal. That number again is 903-488-8895.

What are the plans for the high school prom?

Eagle students, one of the most difficult decisions that we have had to make regarding this troubling time is whether or not to cancel prom. We have been postponing that decision in hopes that everything will be okay and back to normal in a week or two. It appears that will not be the case. If we cancel prom, then we run the risk of parents who have bought expensive dresses already to have no occasion for their child to wear the dress. If we postpone cancelling prom, then we run the risk of even more parents doing the same thing all the while knowing that we will probably have to cancel. At this point, and as much as we hate to do it, we are making the decision to cancel our prom this year.

What are the plans for graduation?

Parents, I have had many of you ask me whether or not graduation will be affected by all of this. At this time, I can honestly say that I do not know. It is my intention that Como-Pickton will hold a high school graduation ceremony. As of right now, that ceremony is still scheduled for May 22nd. If in the event that we are unable to hold a gathering still at that date, I intend on pushing our graduation ceremony to the earliest possible date for us to have it. As I know more, I promise to keep each of you informed.

What are the plans for 8th grade graduation and dance?

As for our 8th grade graduation and dance, I plan on still holding the graduation if we are still able to gather during its scheduled time. If we are not, we will forgo our 8th grade ceremonies. Also, and in keeping with the same thought process as our high school prom, we are not going to hold our traditional 8th grade dance if we are able to maintain our original 8th grade graduation ceremony. It is fast approaching, and I do not want parents to have to spend money on expensive dresses that have a good probability of not being used. If we are blessed and are able to reinstate such gatherings, I will reinstate the dance and order a casual dress code of jeans.

What are the plans for kindergarten graduation?

We will treat kindergarten graduation in the same manner as 8th grade graduation. We plan on hosting it unless we are forced to cancel it. If that is the case, we will not be able to reschedule it for a later date
