YMCA Extra Innings at Como-Pickton CISD

Extra Innings, the YMCA After School Care program, is designed to provide a safe environment for school age children while providing what kids need developmentally to become successful young adults.

The YMCA curriculum focuses on the following subject areas: fitness and wellness, literacy, science and technology, homework, character development, social competency, conflicgt resolution, “Good News Club” Christian-based program, and arts and humanities.

The EXTRA INNINGS program provides:

  • MAXIMUM RATIO OF 20 CHILDREN TO 1 STAFF MEMBER
  • FREE HEALTHY AFTER SCHOOL SNACK (per USDA Food Program Guidelines)
  • DESIGNATED TIME TO COMPLETE HOMEWORK with guidance, as needed
  • INCENTIVE PROGRAMS for good behavior
  • EARLY RELEASE DAYS INCLUDED IN THE WEEKLY PRICE
  • PROGRAM LICENSED AND INSPECTED by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services
  • STAFF TRAINED in CPR and First Aid, as well as, positive discipline, conflict resolution, child development, and age appropriate activities

‚ÄčQUICK FACTS ABOUT THE YMCA AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

AGES: 4 to 12 years

TIME: School dismissal – 6:00 p.m. Late fees assessed for late pick-up ($1/minute)

LOCATION: Como-Pickton Elementary

FEES: Members – $30 per child, per week

PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION: $25 for one child, $45 for two or more children (The YMCA believes every child should have the opportunity to take part in our school age child care programs, regardless of their family’s financial situation. Financial assistance is available for those who need it. We are a CCS provider.)
